Mikel Bastida holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of the Basque Country and studied film at the Andoain Film School. In 2010, he completed a documentary project in China, for which he was awarded one of the prestigious Roberto Villagraz scholarships. He studied the Master in New Documentary at EFTI while producing his project War Theatre, selected for Descubrimientos PhotoEspaña. His work focuses on the relationship between photography and cinema. In 2023, he published his first monographic book with RM Editorial, a portrait of the United States through stories related to American cinema. He currently balances teaching with directing documentary projects and producing commercial work for national and international brands.
