David Míguez Blanco

Having graduated with a degree in History from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, David went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Digital Creation and Communication at the Universidad de A Coruña. Through his Master’s degree, he worked on the first European 3D animated feature film, The Enchanted Forest. Later, he joined the research laboratory Videalab, designing and developing 3D animation and virtual reality projects.

Since 2007, he’s worked at Ilion Animation Studios, as Rigger Artist on Planet 51, and as Rigging Supervisor on both Mortadelo y Filemón contra Jimmy el Cachondo and Wonder Park. He is currently in the development phase of two new films at Skydance Animation Madrid. He balances his professional work with being a professor at U-tad, teaching various subjects in the Animation Degree and directing the Master’s Program in Rigging and CFX. He is a member of the International Congress of Animation, VFX and New Media, Mundos Digitales.
